Paw Pals - A New Way to Help FOCCAS Save Animals

Cowboy is a very special young dog.When he was rescued he had been living tied to the bumper of a van with only the hard ground underneath to sleep on.  He had not been handled much by the people who owned him. When Cowboy first came into rescue he would not even make eye contact with his foster family. He stayed hidden behind his dog house in the corner of his kennel until they turned his doghouse around to face the corner.

Scully’s mom was a Golden Retriever (we have pictures). Scully is not very pushy when it comes to getting attention, but appreciates a laid-back companion. He is happy and playful and loves toys with squeakers, stuffed animals, and lots of snuggle time!! Scully gets along with other dogs and loves to play with those dogs he knows best.  He is on the shy side, so a quiet home with plenty of outside adventures would be his preference.

Shady is a large, sweet boy who enjoys walks, taking rides in cars, and is good with other dogs.  He is not aggressive at all and co-exists well in a pack.  He loves to run in the pasture with many other dogs at the rescue. He would like a family to call his own, so that he can show everyone how smart and good-natured he really is.  An active family would suit him best because he is full of energy!

I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world.   I’m a 6 year old mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong.  The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go.  I’m such a good boy I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used.      

Sunny is a sweet, energetic girl who loves to be petted - she just leans into you.  She shared her space with her buddies, Garland and Gertie, but they have both been adopted.  Sunny is wondering when her turn will come. She enjoys running around with other dogs and is ready for anything.  She walks well on a leash using a gentle leader.  Sunny has a lot of love to give someone.  Could that be you?

Bulma is a 3-year-old, 70-lb American Bulldog. She is a super happy, very friendly dog.  Bulma is affectionate and energetic. Bulma hasn't been tested with children, but we have no reason to think she would be anything other than her sweet, friendly self. She might be a little much for very small children, since she is not bashful about showing love (just like every other Bulldog we’ve ever met). She needs some training to learn her doggy manners and she is very eager to please. She will be tons of fun, laughs, and kisses on day one! 

Ginger is a young, energetic pup who loves to take long walks.  She is interested in everything going on around her.  She is crate-trained, knows "sit," is working on "stay," and is potty-trained.  She looks forward to playing with other dogs and wants to meet every dog on her walks.  She has discovered the hose and decided that playing in the water is great fun!  Ginger loves to ride in the car and is always ready for an adventure.  She will make a great addition to an active family with no cats.

Milo is one of those guys that everyone loves to hate. He is typical of his breed and is capable of only loving one person at a time (most likely a man). When he loves he loves completely! If his psychiatrist would release his records I'm sure his diagnosis would be schizophrenia, but we don't know for sure (patient privacy! ). We recommend local adoptions only (Crossville,  TN). Just in case you aren't that "special someone". Oh, and he's only 18 pounds, 4 years old, Chihuahua. 

Sass came to us with her brother Blue as an owner surrender.  The owner was forced to relocate and could not bring the dog, and no family member was interested in taking it.  Sassy had been outside in a fenced-in yard, with little to no time inside. We do have information that a mobile vet did visit for service, but do not have details on his care.  Sassy needs time to learn how to be with people and an inside dog.    

Blue came to us with his sister Sassy as an owner surrender.  The owner was forced to move and could not bring the dog, and no family member was interested.  Blue had been outside in a fenced-in yard, with little to no time inside. Rocket Man is a short and stocky dog with a strong personality. He enjoys being in control and likes to be the boss of the pack. He craves attention and loves being around people, always seeking out affection and playtime. His assertiveness can sometimes lead him to bully less dominant or submissive dogs. Rocket Man's loving nature and need for human companionship make him an ideal fit for an active, experienced dog owner.

 Storm is a guy with a big heart and an even bigger personality.  He loves people and craves attention from anyone who is willing to give it to him.  He has a confident demeanor and enjoys taking walks.  He tires fairly easily because of his weight, therefore, he needs a lot more walking! Storm has been learning to walk using a gentle leader, which helps tremendously.  Storm is a lovable and loyal companion who just needs a little extra help to reach his full potential.

Journey has been here for close to 3 years. He is incredibly sweet and affectionate.  He is not only friendly towards humans but also plays well with other dogs, making him an ideal companion for a multi-dog household.  He is playful - loves toys.  Journey also enjoys meeting new people, always hoping that one of the new humans will take him home.   Journey is waiting to have a home of his own with people who will provide him with the love and attention he deserves.
